An opportunity to work with Digital Fashion Week Singapore, one of the best fashion industry partner in Singapore.

The Xhibit team with artist @Song.rscls
Usually, Digital Fashion Week will remind you about the fashion events such as fashion show and designers wear, but in this module, we had the chance to work on the collaboration of DFW store and Raffles College of Higher Education (RCHE), wherein student will get a chance to set up installation in their first retail store. The retail store itself consists of a good mix of streetwear brands such as Thrasher, Obey, Made in Paradise.
The installation itself was inspired by an artist workshop, so it was filled with canvas and drawing materials depicting the artist work on progress, the store will also be filled with posters related to the brand names all over the store. We also had three classic TV placed together to showcase the video shoot of models wearing the brand from the store that was produced by the production team.

I was in the Marketing team, who was in charge of the press release sent to media and influencers, advertisements about the event in FB and IG, promotions of word of mouth from classes to classes. Since the installation will last for 3 months, the marketing team will have to have content on the social media to remind the crowd that the installation is still there.
Marketing Team members
In order to attract people to the 3 months long installation from November to February 2019, we had a giveaway that includes a Thrasher t-shirt and discount voucher, to encourage people to drop by the store and take pictures of themselves with the installation, which will eventually help DFW store to gain more awareness. Moving towards the 29th of November night, that was a by invite only launching event from 7-9 PM, so the guests consist of influencers that have the same style or aesthetic as the brand and also people that sign up for the event because they are interested in the installation that consists photogenic corners around the store. The highlight of the event was the customization service that was especially available only on the launching night.
Throughout the launching night, I was in charge of photography, registration, briefing the guests about the giveaway & installation, and since there is two session which is 7 to 8 and 8 to 9, the marketing team members will have to swap roles in between session.
It was a fun night because guests are able to have fun because they are able to get non-permanent tattoos of their choice and stickers, but they also get to draw in the canvas and watch a live demonstration of the artist @Song.rscls spraying paint on the canvas and t-shirts. The atmosphere of the event was very lively because everybody gets to have a short chit-chat with each other and have fun together.

As a photographer in the event, I got to encourage the guests to take photos with the installation, and overall it was an amazing experience because you get to see everyone’s playful and happy side of themselves as seen from the pictures taken.
